Acts 9:23-25

After many days had gone by, the Jews conspired to kill him, but Saul learned of their plan. Day and night they kept close watch on the city gates in order to kill him. But his followers took him by night and lowered him in a basket through an opening in the wall.

The man that sent other men running is now on the run…The people don’t believe Saul. His former life at this point, is louder than his message. The Jews now conspire to kill him. Welcome to being a Christian Saul. Welcome to the world of living on the run and hiding. Saul, the man who enjoyed the pursuit, is now living in hiding. It’s ironic.

However, by the grace of God Saul was able to make a few disciples because the scriptures tell us “his followers” came to him and saved him in the middle of the night. I love it! Saul isn’t even there a long time but he has followers. Where are our followers, maybe the better question is who is following us?

To lead, you must have followers otherwise you’re not leading…you’re just walking. You don’t get followers unless you break out of your skin and start to deliver the message you have been entrusted with.

Matthew 22:8-10

"Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.' So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, both good and bad, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

You are called to fill the wedding hall! Be bold and be courageous! No one wants to follow someone who can’t be sold out to what they believe. If no one is following you it might be because you have yet to get excited…you’ve yet to get a little crazy…you’ve yet to get a little passionate. Maybe that is why people often quote the church as “asleep”. Well it’s time to wake up…it’s time to get fired up…and let our hearts be passionate once again about what God is doing! Not with what he is going to do…but about what He is doing right now!
