At 5pm on Friday, I will officially be unemployed. You would think that I would be a bit more worried than I actually am. There is a part of me that is terrified, don’t get me wrong, but there is something deeper within me that tells me I can trust my God. Something inside me tells me that this is just another lion to wrestle, another fear to conquer.

Or…

It could be the fact that I am starting a six-week series on teaching “In A Pit With A Lion On A Snowy Day”, by Pastor Mark Batterson of NCC.

If you haven’t read this book yet…well…you should. That’s all I’m saying.

Speaking of Pastor Mark, I will be fortunate enough to actually hear him speak this Friday night. I will be attending the North Texas Honor Bound Men’s Retreat in Waxahachie. I am pretty excited about attending this retreat and hearing him. My wife and I watch his video podcast at night and really enjoy his teachings.

On a side note…Do you think it’s weird that I want to pester him about giving me and my wife a shout out on his podcast? He usually starts his message by welcoming all the podcast viewers and listeners as well as their other locations…so maybe just a little “Hey, just want to give a shout out to all of our podcast viewers and listeners…special shout out to Jim and Joy, our friends from Texas, who are listening as well…”

That’s not weird, right?
